![]() ![]() Grizz (known as Bear #03), along with many other animals, was placed into a cold sleep and launched into space aboard the Ark Polaris in an effort to find another hospitable planet. Many years before the events of Splatoon, almost all mammals on Earth were brought to extinction. When defeated, Grizz shows remorse at his failure, and accepts that he cannot turn back the clock, before exclaiming that Agent 3 will not be receiving severance pay. During these monologues, he lays out his motivation to "balance" the world through the domination of mammals. He also has a tendency to go on long winded monologues, seemingly not caring if anyone is listening to him or not. During the campaign, he constantly references facets of business management. This shows high intelligence since to achieve his goal he made a multi staged plan, which involved creating a company where people do the collecting work for him, while he worked on taking over the Octarian Army. Grizz's obsession with Golden Eggs was revealed to be due to being needed for his plan to cover Earth with his self-manufactured fuzzy ooze. He also does not hold back complimenting players if they worked according to his expectations or even surpassed them by collecting more than 99 Golden Eggs. However, he gives advice for improvement if the players missed the quota or did not make it through all waves in hope of achieving better results in everyone's interest. Grizz's dialogues in Salmon Run he gives of the impression of a strict businessman, seeing more value in good results with loose appreciation for proper laws and procedures. He is not seen until the end of the campaign, where he is revealed to be an oversized bear with glowing white or red eyes and an emotionless facial expression. Grizz is the primary antagonist of the single-player campaign, Return of the Mammalians, where he builds a large rocket intent on covering the planet in Fuzzy Ooze. He also congratulates the player after each round and lets them know how well (or not-so-well) they have done. MR MISTER WELCOME TO THE REAL WORLD RAREST HOW TOGrizz supplies the player with advice on how to handle each event when one occurs in-game, and sometimes with his own rare weapons, the Grizzco Blaster, Grizzco Brella, Grizzco Charger, Grizzco Slosher, and Grizzco Stringer. However, this only happens if the player is above Level 4. Grizz will recognize returning players who have transferred their Splatoon 2 save data, mentioning how they are a returning employee. Grizz will see that they are a "newb" and will not let them play Salmon Run as they would be a "liability". However, if the player enters before reaching Level 4, Mr. When the player enters Salmon Run for the first time, he greets the player and gives them two tutorials before they can play the mode online, showcasing how to defeat each Boss Salmonid (excluding the Griller, Mothership, and Mudmouths). Towards the end of said mode, he grows to enormous proportions by taking Fuzzy Ooze into his body, with his eyes glowing white and eventually red. The Return of the Mammalians mode reveals his true appearance, being that of a brown grizzly bear. Upon completing Return of the Mammalians, the statue in the latter mode is changed to a large fish eating a small bear.
